Exeter City Council

Exeter City Council is the district authority for Exeter in Devon, England. Its website provides information about housing, Council Tax, planning, waste and recycling collection, licensing, parks and other city services. Residents can use the relevant service page to find contact details and available application, payment or reporting routes.

Exeter currently has two tiers of local government. Devon County Council, rather than the city council, is responsible for services including schools, adult social care, roads and libraries. The city council’s own guidance explains this division and identifies services it does not provide. Checking the responsible authority first helps residents choose the right route for their issue.
