Legal & copyright

The role of 789 UK, copyright and brand rights, corrections, accessibility and your legal rights.
About the directory
789 UK is the UK edition of the independent 789.work website directory. It brings public services, independent support, business, work, learning and everyday resources together. It is not a government department, a public authority or an agent of any listed provider. A listing, link, screenshot or brand mark does not imply approval, sponsorship, partnership or affiliation.
Categories and ordering are editorial selections, not measured popularity rankings or recommendations tailored to your personal circumstances. Choose England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland where arrangements differ. The relevant provider determines its own coverage, eligibility, fees and terms. The directory does not handle applications, orders, payments, account support or individual public-service cases.
Using listings and external services
Introductions and task links help you find a provider; they do not provide legal, immigration, financial, investment, tax, medical or other individual professional advice. Check the current information on the provider’s own website before acting, especially where a deadline, payment, health decision or legal entitlement is involved.
External websites and apps are operated separately. Their content, security, availability and terms can change. A screenshot records a particular page at a particular time and may show an earlier design, company page or official app listing. It does not establish present availability or suitability. An iOS link identifies an app in the UK App Store; it does not guarantee compatibility, price, availability elsewhere or the developer’s future conduct.
Use the provider’s own contact and complaints routes for its services. Never send applications, identity documents, bank details or payments to the directory in place of the responsible provider.
Copyright, screenshots and trade marks
Rights in original editorial text, software and the directory’s selection or arrangement are reserved to their respective rights holders where those rights exist. Facts and web addresses are not claimed as exclusive property. The UK landscape background was generated with AI; it is an illustration, not a documentary photograph or evidence of official involvement. This notice does not assert exclusive copyright in AI-generated material merely because it appears here.
Third-party website names, logos, screenshots, photographs, app artwork and other material remain the property of their respective rights holders. Identifiers help visitors recognise the relevant provider; screenshots accompany the named listing and its description. Capture, resizing, format conversion, attribution or availability on the open web does not itself grant permission to reuse the underlying work. The directory does not grant you a licence to third-party material.
For reuse, follow the permission or licence applying to the particular material, or establish that a legal exception applies to your intended use. UK fair dealing depends on the purpose, amount, fairness and acknowledgement required by the relevant exception; it is not a blanket permission for screenshots or photographs. Nothing here restricts a statutory permitted act or a right granted by a separate licence. You may link to directory pages without implying an affiliation or endorsement.
Government information and open licences
Where public-sector information is supplied under the Open Government Licence v3.0: Contains public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0. The source is the public body identified in the relevant listing or source link. Any additional attribution specified by that body also applies.
The licence applies only to information within its scope. It generally excludes personal data, third-party rights, trade marks, identity documents and departmental logos, crests or the Royal Arms, except for the licence’s limited provision for marks integral to a document or dataset. It does not confer official status or endorsement. Do not infer that a government logo or every image in a government webpage is openly licensed.
Software and material credits
The interface uses Bootstrap 4.6.1, copyright its authors and Twitter, Inc., under the MIT licence and copyright notice. Third-party components retain their own licences. The site’s general copyright notice does not replace them.
Specific shared brand credits and licence information are retained in the identity-material attributions. An attribution records its stated source and conditions; it is not a general licence for other marks or material.
Rights notices, corrections and directory contact
Use the directory email contact below for a copyright, trade mark, privacy or listing concern. Please identify the affected directory page, the exact material or link, the reason for your concern and a reply address. For a rights claim, identify the work or right concerned and provide enough information to show your ownership or authority to act. A representative should explain their authority.
Send only information necessary to understand the issue. Redact unrelated personal details; do not send a passport, full financial records or sensitive case files as a routine first step. You do not need to use a special form or legal wording. Where a concern indicates an urgent risk, explain it clearly so that it can be prioritised.
Notices are assessed on their facts and applicable law. Appropriate action may include correcting an entry, limiting display, replacing or removing material, or disabling a link. A disputed claim may require proportionate further information and consideration of the affected party’s response. No automatic entitlement, fixed takedown period or immunity is created by this notice. Necessary information may be shared to investigate a claim or meet a legal duty, as explained in Privacy & cookies.
Accessibility and assistance
The directory provides keyboard navigation, visible focus, a mobile menu, text descriptions and light and dark themes. Category links and listing text remain available without JavaScript. These features do not amount to a claim of certified accessibility conformance.
To report an access barrier or request information in a different format, use the directory email contact with the page address, the barrier and your preferred way to receive the information. Include device or assistive-technology details only if useful. For help completing an external service’s process, contact that provider.
Responsibility and your legal rights
The directory does not promise uninterrupted access, an exhaustive list of providers or a particular outcome from an external service. Its own legal responsibilities remain governed by applicable law. Nothing in this notice excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Your mandatory consumer, data-protection and other statutory rights remain intact. This notice does not require you to give up protections applicable where you live, bring proceedings in an exclusive court or indemnify the directory. Visiting the site does not amount to consent to advertising, tracking or data processing that requires separate consent. Future changes to this notice do not retrospectively remove accrued rights.
