National Library of Scotland

The National Library of Scotland collects and preserves material connected with Scotland and wider subjects. Its website offers collection information, research routes, stories and information about visits and exhibitions.

Published information and service routes cover Scottish collections, research information and visits and exhibitions. Choose the collection or research route that matches the subject and check current access arrangements. A digital collection, a requested item and a physical visit may each involve a different service or preparation step.

For related tasks, National Library of Scotland can be considered alongside City of Edinburgh Council for planning and building standards, social care and health and Glasgow City Council for local authority services, council information. These resources cover adjoining parts of the subject; each publishes its own information and handles its own service, access arrangements or applications.
