National Careers Service

The National Careers Service provides careers information and advice for England. Its website includes tools for exploring careers, identifying skills and finding learning routes linked to employment goals.

Published information and service routes cover career profiles, skills assessment and course search. Begin with the career or skills question you want to explore, then compare relevant learning and job-search routes. Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland have their own public careers services with different local support arrangements.

For related tasks, National Careers Service can be considered alongside Prospects for graduate careers, job advice and UCAS for university choices, application guidance. These resources cover adjoining parts of the subject; each publishes its own information and handles its own service, access arrangements or applications.
